Modern day bomb: Part 1

"It could have burned the side of my face or through my pocket and my leg or set fire to my bed..." quoting from a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone user in Dublin from a news report in dailymail.co.uk dated 21st June 2012...

Many speculations comments has been going on forums and blogs...Is it because of the car mount that he was using that caused the explosion? What did he meant about "it could have burned the side of his face"? etc...etc...

So what actually happened? How is it possible that the phone as the user claimed: 'A white flame, sparks and a bang came out of my phone'

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2162638/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-phone-explodes-users-car.html#ixzz1yyKteWJQ

My own point of view probably because of the mount that he was using, even though that he said that it is a plastic mount but there are 2 springs approximately 2cm behind the mount and which is in close proximity to  where the battery is.And the metal from the spring could possibly had a reaction with the battery terminals and caused the explosion.
To make matters worse he could possibly be using it for call at the same time as it is near the antenna area??
Exact cause I really don't know and let's just leave it for the experts in Samsung to answer the questions...
But interesting stuff I discovered from a safety information of a phone battery manual...

1. Do not use your device during thunderstorm; Your device may malfunction and your risk of electric shock is increased...
Hmm...So meaning if you are having an emergency during a thunderstorm, you can't even use it to call for help? Because there are chances (although probability seems to be low, but not exactly impossible) that instead of you helping, you'll be the electrocuted one?

2. Do not store device near metal objects, such as coins, keys and necklaces; if battery comes in contact with these, they will caused fire...
So meaning if you placed it in a hand bag where there are coins, keys and other metal object, you are literally carrying a fire bomb?

Well, there are more and most of us are familiar with all these do-s and don't-s whether knowingly or we deemed them as common sense...
But until we really read the manual and give deep thoughts to it, we don't really understand the device that we are using, do we?
How many people out there actually read the manual of safety and precautions about the gadgets that they bought? I for one DO NOT READ it...But today, I did something different, I actually spend some time reading a 36 page long manual of a gadget that I have...

But the more you read the manual and to actually give it a thought to some situations that we could possibly be in...
Technology nowadays seems to be putting our lives at risk instead of us at ease.We are carrying more and more modern day bombs on ourselves with all these so-called gadgets.Even the odds of all these things exploding are like 1 in 100000 (just an example on the statistic, actual probability is unknown), well could we be the 1?

All these brilliant inventions of modern day gadgets and technology are product of someone's intelligent mind. But do we, users know what are the dangers hidden behind all these gadgets? Instead of live-saving and giving us comfort, will it bring on ourselves more harm?
It'll be a never ending debate with no clear cut answers up to this date for sure...

In application to us in life, do we read the Basic-Instruction-Before-Leaving-Earth (BIBLE) and to go through everything that we face in life according to all these "safety and precaution" stated within?

Lord I Offer My Life To You

All that I am, all that I have
I lay them down before You, oh Lord

All my regrets, all my acclaims
The joy and the pain I'm making them Yours

Lord I offer my life to You
Everything I've been through
Use it for Your glory
Lord I offer my days to You
Lifting my praise to You
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer You my life

Things in the past, things yet unseen
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true
All of my heart all of my praise
My heart and my pain are lifted to You

A youtube video that I stumbled upon and shared with a friend.

Are we prepared to lay them all down for Him? No matter how small or how much that we have...when we are required to give it all...ARE WE WILLING TO?

Rain in the spring time

Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime;
it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds.
He gives showers of rain to men,
and plants of the field  to everyone. Zechariah 10 :1

Thank you Lord for seeing me through the storm of exams...
You've send people to encourage me and be with me all the time. When I feel weary and I want to give up, thank You Lord for reassuring me and be at my side to guide me through. When I feel tired, O Lord, You gave me the most rejuvenating sleep that I could ever ask for. When I'm about to stutter during exam, thank You Lord for being the one that helped me to speak.
In the storm, I saw myself and also others being weak, defeated, broke down, paralyzed with so much burdens and fear...

But Lord, You're the one that gave me the joy, peace and love in the process of it...
Because I ask...
And all I ask is the rain in the spring time...

Thank You Lord for this rain that You've send, allowing me to realize that I could not have done much without You... spring time rain..

Another goodbye to wave

..and I ain't sure I will handle it well or not...
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time to war and a time for peace. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. - Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 , 11

Congratulations and thanks for painting and being a part of my life I thank God for every memories and I thank God for all the time we spent together From unknown to known, from distant to near Thanks for all the help and trouble that I gave and thanks for lending me a pair listening ears Thanks for the rebuke and thanks for putting me back on track and reignite the fire for God Thanks be to God for He in His appointed time put us to come across each other Thanks be to God for the work that He has begun and going to do for all For which men has the guarantee for everything? But I do pray that at the end of the day, by His will, we will all rejoice meeting and fellowship once again.

Lord am Amazed

Lord I'm Amazed by You...
Thanks for reminding me again...

"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands. as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us." (Acts 18: 24-27)
If God provides for this palm tree in such a vast desert that signifies so much of emptiness, what more about us that we are called God's children?
I don't want to rely on myself and when I fail, I only see the voidness of the desert but not seeing the underground spring of providence that is always being there... Lord Jesus, allow me to continue to hang on to Your spring of life that is hidden and by faith I know that You are there, always. Amen.

Good insight?

In Psychiatry posting we learn that good insight means: One acknowledges that he/she has mental illness and is in need of medication to control the illness...
But,
To me....
Good insight means:
" We acknowledge we are sinners and we need Jesus to justified us by His grace and to guide our life"

Joy vs Happiness

Just take awhile and imagine:
Strolling hand in hand with the one you loved in the park on a cool Sunday morning;
Being surprised on your birthday; someone that you liked called you to say goodnight or just to find out how you are;
Getting your first pay check with many zero-s behind a digit;
Watching the graduation of your children and know that your effort pays off over the years...
.....and the list goes on.....

What is that first word that comes to your mind?
Happiness?
These are circumstances that causes this surge of endorphine within us; but ask yourself is it permanent or was it just temporary?
Let's just turn the circumstances around and see what's next?
What if the one you loved dies?
What if whatever time, energy and money you've invested in the so-called your masterpiece of life ended up just like any other normal thing or it is being trashed due to some reason or another?

Often happiness flees and despair sets in....
This temporary feeling of "happiness": will be well forgotten, buried in deep piles of disappointment, anger and maybe hatred against all that happens...
It did not last after all, so can anyone tell me what is the purpose of this "happiness"??

Happiness, being determined from the outside but joy on the other hand comes from within...
You are able to rejoice in time of suffering because deep down you know that there is a higher calling more than whatever circumstances that you are facing...
Rejoicing in bad times is never easy but at the same time never difficult, because what we have that higher calling in Christ who still reigns and we still know him....

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

I Can Only Imagine

John 20: 29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

1 Peter 1:8-9 Though you have not seen him , you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Some people think that they would believe in Jesus if they could see a definite sign or miracle. But Jesus says we are blessed if we can believe without seeing. All the proofs that we need is in the Bible.
Another point to ponder? Are not the same group of people who saw God's great miracles in the days of Moses in Exodus, the same group that made the golden calf? Even though they saw the invisible God in action, they still wanted the familiar gods they can see and shape into whatever image they desired.

So be bless because you believe and love Him by faith and not by sight...

To Wait???

"In the womb he grasped his brother's heel; as a man he struggled with God.He struggled with the angel and overcame him; he wept and begged for his favor. He found him at Bethel and talked to him there- the Lord God Almighty, the Lord is his name of renown! But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always." Hosea 12: 3-6

Many of times we are so entangle in life's rat race and being the impatient one, we often tend to mess up God's timing by overtaking Him by doing things on our own and forfeit the blessings that He has for us. Underlying problem could be everything in this world is about efficacy and datelines...But there is no dateline in God's time and who are we to set a dateline for Him???

Waiting is undeniably a very difficult task for most of us and am included in the WAITING test.I think is even more difficult than P2 and P3 add up...But because of who He is to me...I have only 2 choices to make....1st is to wait obediently or 2nd I choose to do it by my own way which is disobedience....

One song says it all...

Mixed feelings..but all answered...
Where o where is the direction of the compass within my heart?

Few thoughts, few lines...

First time seeing a case of intrauterine death last night...One pair of twin, one made it and the other didn't...So much of a difference on how they both were treated...
One being so taken care of by people and the other being wrapped in linen being pushed from side to side...
Many thoughts running through my mind, so swift and so much, I couldn't catch all of them and type them out....but something moved deep inside me...
Couldn't explain how and why or what...
In the multitudes of questions and uncertainties,
I found the answer or should I say I have found the answer long time ago...

Making a comeback

While reading the news from Yahoo, this line particularly struck me : "Even for a country used to earthquakes, this one was of horrific proportions because of the tsunami that crashed ashore, swallowing everything in its path as it surged several miles (kilometers) inland before retreating. The apocalyptic images of surging water broadcast by Japanese TV networks resembled scenes from a Hollywood disaster movie."

Suddenly messages of warnings are circulating among people through sms, emails, Facebook statuses and even Twitter asking us to beware and not to go near seasides at times like this.Besides reminding myself to encourage those in Japan through prayers, I got myself into some serious thinking.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

In the midst of all this happening, I'm sure all kinds of thoughts are running through the minds of the people, mixed feelings of fear, uncertainty, pity, anger and etc...and hey, this could be the starting point of driving people insane from sane, depressive being made worse so on and so forth. However, there are also another group of people whom couldn't be bothered of what just happened even with multitudes of life being taken away. The similarity between everyone is: Somewhere in you, you know that the end is coming very soon...but sadly, some choose to deny it...

The unexplainable increasing amount of earthquakes and natural disasters and certain phenomenon which are happening undeniably points us to the direction of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ as far as I believe...

Just to encourage myself and everyone at times like this, a line of the song particularly struck me:
In the chaos, in confusion,
I know You're Sovereign still,
In the moment of my weakness,
You give me grace to do Your will,
So when You call I won't delay
This my song through all my days

There is no one else for me
None but Jesus
Crucified to set me free
Now I live to bring Him praise

All my delight is in You, Lord
All of my hope, all of my strength
All my delight is in You, Lord, forevermore

Blessed Christmas...

Few more hours away and I'll be back in KL!Can't wait to meet up with family and friends!!
Anyway after much abandoning of this blogosphere...am back!!
Another 48 hours....is Christmas!!
Blessed Christmas everyone...may you have an awesome time of reunion and celebration!
Because Christmas marks the birth of the Saviour...

Went through some tough times in the absence of blogging but whatever it is I thank God that it is over (or some still ongoing) I do believe from whatever circumstances that I've been through He is ever faithful and He never fails to encourage me.

Currently am reading 2 books about testimonies of people going through persecution because they choose to follow Jesus and am totally encouraged by it.I know never will I understand the process of how they endure through the darkest moment of their lives. However, profound similarities is found between all the stories even all of them happen in different time, zone, location and of course they don't know one another....

They are freed though they are prisoned
They rejoice in the midst of sorrow,
They sing praises unto Him in the midst of pain,
They continue to choose to do His work in the midst of risking their lifes,
Externally, they seems to be weak and helpless but inside they are well rested in His steadfast love...
They live their life once and they live to the fullest for God...

Some scorned and say, they are fools and fanatic for their faith, why are they so sure of what they are doing will be rewarded? What if whatever that is being in the bible are just another good fairytale or myth,so why waste your life? Why not just run away or deny Him when being interrogated,at least they can save themselves from being imprisoned??and etc etc questions...

As followers of Christ, we know that their reward is not on this transient place we call Earth but heavenwards. They live like a firework, short-lived but awesomely spectacular and impactful! By faith, 100percent trusting in Him..
To all of them, they did/still is doing God's work fearlessly...because of Jesus is the one who truly sets them free:
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life.He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never go thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given to me, but raise them up at the last day.For my father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."(John 6: 35-40)

So for this Christmas season and the year of 2011, are we ready to live up to the standard that are constantly being raised in our walk with Him?The challenges are never meant to be easy but at the same time neither will it be too difficult...make sense?? ;)

Looking back...a year ago...

Was in deep thoughts past few days...Talked about monsoon in KT, I brought the monsoon back to KL as well but monsoon in my head...thank God for the monsoon has been overcame again!!
Wasn't an easy season at this time of the year last year...Wonder what happened? Well all I could answer is:
1) Overdriven lacrimal glands
2) Lacerated "carditis"
3) Anxiety hallucination(???)
Don't mind the jargons...Anyway they are STRICTLY metaphores! No such signs and symptoms in real medical settings...

Fast forward a year, I realized that I gained more than what I could possibly imagine from where I was 1 year ago.
To you who was involved, I didn't blame you for all that you have done: you came in, you brought in wonderful times by hanging out, but at the same time you did brought in a difficult time for me...Well good news is: I learnt how to pick myself up from where I tripped in a journey called life and thanks be to God for that. And I hope you don't do it on others again, please don't repeat the same mistake ever again!
Looking back it ain't easy for me at all and of course it's not an instantaneous thing to just forget about everything...But I manage to do it with His strength slowly...Every sunset of the previous day, marks the new beginning of a brand new day next...
Every downcast soul, will be lifted up by Him who saves and heals...
The cross is where the ultimate love pours in...
Because...as far as from the east to the west, so far has He removed all our transgressions...
Thanks be to God for lifting me up again and blessing me in other ways that no words can described

During sharing yesterday, someone shared something powerful: Instead of asking "Is he/she THE ONE??", why don't you ask yourself "Am I THE ONE?" and by the way bible never talks about a predestined BGR-kinda-love...The word "predestined" occur 6 times in the bible and they are all referring to the atonement of sin by Christ on the cross and inheritance of God's kingdom...Too deep??Well I should probably stop here right now....feel free to post questions...(coz my comment, not cbox are very very silent for awhile LOL)can't guarantee that I'm able answer all but yea I'll try to....

It's Difficult..

when...you feel like crying but you gotta keep putting it up to be strong...
reversals happen...the more crappy you feel, the more lame stuff you did...
why?because 9 out of 10 times you weren't yourself...
The song "Don't get too close to me" by Beau Bristow keeps playing...
Far too long...
Thanks be to God,
For I'm,
Prevented from giving up...
At least to Him I don't need to mask up....
To Him, I can freely cry out....
To Him I trust,
To Him I still keep my hopes up...

Oh please Gimme a Break!!

So tired, exhausted, beyond words...
Not like I spent endless nights staying awake...
Is like I don't really have a choice...
2 seminars waiting to be fried by me or else I'll get fried...
Anyway am wondering..what if...
What if someone walks up and say "I'm not doing this!"
What happens next??
Don't dare to think about it so I choose to abort that thought!
Another beginning of an exhausting day..
Oh Lord...though am exhausted..but please don't get me burnt out!
Amen!

Note to self......STOP SLEEPING SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!
