Modern day bomb: Part 1

"It could have burned the side of my face or through my pocket and my leg or set fire to my bed..." quoting from a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone user in Dublin from a news report in dailymail.co.uk dated 21st June 2012...

Many speculations comments has been going on forums and blogs...Is it because of the car mount that he was using that caused the explosion? What did he meant about "it could have burned the side of his face"? etc...etc...

So what actually happened? How is it possible that the phone as the user claimed: 'A white flame, sparks and a bang came out of my phone'

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2162638/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-phone-explodes-users-car.html#ixzz1yyKteWJQ

My own point of view probably because of the mount that he was using, even though that he said that it is a plastic mount but there are 2 springs approximately 2cm behind the mount and which is in close proximity to  where the battery is.And the metal from the spring could possibly had a reaction with the battery terminals and caused the explosion.
To make matters worse he could possibly be using it for call at the same time as it is near the antenna area??
Exact cause I really don't know and let's just leave it for the experts in Samsung to answer the questions...
But interesting stuff I discovered from a safety information of a phone battery manual...

1. Do not use your device during thunderstorm; Your device may malfunction and your risk of electric shock is increased...
Hmm...So meaning if you are having an emergency during a thunderstorm, you can't even use it to call for help? Because there are chances (although probability seems to be low, but not exactly impossible) that instead of you helping, you'll be the electrocuted one?

2. Do not store device near metal objects, such as coins, keys and necklaces; if battery comes in contact with these, they will caused fire...
So meaning if you placed it in a hand bag where there are coins, keys and other metal object, you are literally carrying a fire bomb?

Well, there are more and most of us are familiar with all these do-s and don't-s whether knowingly or we deemed them as common sense...
But until we really read the manual and give deep thoughts to it, we don't really understand the device that we are using, do we?
How many people out there actually read the manual of safety and precautions about the gadgets that they bought? I for one DO NOT READ it...But today, I did something different, I actually spend some time reading a 36 page long manual of a gadget that I have...

But the more you read the manual and to actually give it a thought to some situations that we could possibly be in...
Technology nowadays seems to be putting our lives at risk instead of us at ease.We are carrying more and more modern day bombs on ourselves with all these so-called gadgets.Even the odds of all these things exploding are like 1 in 100000 (just an example on the statistic, actual probability is unknown), well could we be the 1?

All these brilliant inventions of modern day gadgets and technology are product of someone's intelligent mind. But do we, users know what are the dangers hidden behind all these gadgets? Instead of live-saving and giving us comfort, will it bring on ourselves more harm?
It'll be a never ending debate with no clear cut answers up to this date for sure...

In application to us in life, do we read the Basic-Instruction-Before-Leaving-Earth (BIBLE) and to go through everything that we face in life according to all these "safety and precaution" stated within?

Lord I Offer My Life To You

All that I am, all that I have
I lay them down before You, oh Lord

All my regrets, all my acclaims
The joy and the pain I'm making them Yours

Lord I offer my life to You
Everything I've been through
Use it for Your glory
Lord I offer my days to You
Lifting my praise to You
As a pleasing sacrifice
Lord I offer You my life

Things in the past, things yet unseen
Wishes and dreams that are yet to come true
All of my heart all of my praise
My heart and my pain are lifted to You

A youtube video that I stumbled upon and shared with a friend.

Are we prepared to lay them all down for Him? No matter how small or how much that we have...when we are required to give it all...ARE WE WILLING TO?

Rain in the spring time

Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime;
it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds.
He gives showers of rain to men,
and plants of the field  to everyone. Zechariah 10 :1

Thank you Lord for seeing me through the storm of exams...
You've send people to encourage me and be with me all the time. When I feel weary and I want to give up, thank You Lord for reassuring me and be at my side to guide me through. When I feel tired, O Lord, You gave me the most rejuvenating sleep that I could ever ask for. When I'm about to stutter during exam, thank You Lord for being the one that helped me to speak.
In the storm, I saw myself and also others being weak, defeated, broke down, paralyzed with so much burdens and fear...

But Lord, You're the one that gave me the joy, peace and love in the process of it...
Because I ask...
And all I ask is the rain in the spring time...

Thank You Lord for this rain that You've send, allowing me to realize that I could not have done much without You... spring time rain..

Another goodbye to wave

..and I ain't sure I will handle it well or not...
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time to war and a time for peace. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. - Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 , 11

Congratulations and thanks for painting and being a part of my life I thank God for every memories and I thank God for all the time we spent together From unknown to known, from distant to near Thanks for all the help and trouble that I gave and thanks for lending me a pair listening ears Thanks for the rebuke and thanks for putting me back on track and reignite the fire for God Thanks be to God for He in His appointed time put us to come across each other Thanks be to God for the work that He has begun and going to do for all For which men has the guarantee for everything? But I do pray that at the end of the day, by His will, we will all rejoice meeting and fellowship once again.

Lord am Amazed

Lord I'm Amazed by You...
Thanks for reminding me again...

"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands. as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us." (Acts 18: 24-27)
If God provides for this palm tree in such a vast desert that signifies so much of emptiness, what more about us that we are called God's children?
I don't want to rely on myself and when I fail, I only see the voidness of the desert but not seeing the underground spring of providence that is always being there... Lord Jesus, allow me to continue to hang on to Your spring of life that is hidden and by faith I know that You are there, always. Amen.

Good insight?

In Psychiatry posting we learn that good insight means: One acknowledges that he/she has mental illness and is in need of medication to control the illness...
But,
To me....
Good insight means:
" We acknowledge we are sinners and we need Jesus to justified us by His grace and to guide our life"

Joy vs Happiness

Just take awhile and imagine:
Strolling hand in hand with the one you loved in the park on a cool Sunday morning;
Being surprised on your birthday; someone that you liked called you to say goodnight or just to find out how you are;
Getting your first pay check with many zero-s behind a digit;
Watching the graduation of your children and know that your effort pays off over the years...
.....and the list goes on.....

What is that first word that comes to your mind?
Happiness?
These are circumstances that causes this surge of endorphine within us; but ask yourself is it permanent or was it just temporary?
Let's just turn the circumstances around and see what's next?
What if the one you loved dies?
What if whatever time, energy and money you've invested in the so-called your masterpiece of life ended up just like any other normal thing or it is being trashed due to some reason or another?

Often happiness flees and despair sets in....
This temporary feeling of "happiness": will be well forgotten, buried in deep piles of disappointment, anger and maybe hatred against all that happens...
It did not last after all, so can anyone tell me what is the purpose of this "happiness"??

Happiness, being determined from the outside but joy on the other hand comes from within...
You are able to rejoice in time of suffering because deep down you know that there is a higher calling more than whatever circumstances that you are facing...
Rejoicing in bad times is never easy but at the same time never difficult, because what we have that higher calling in Christ who still reigns and we still know him....

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
